Good afternoon and happy Monday! I hope everyone had a good weekend. This is Conor back for another Polker AMA. I know that it is a slightly different time than usual. My apologies for the changeup. This will just be for this week and the next and then we’ll be reverting to our old time. I do understand that a lot of people won’t know that the time has changed, but this will be recorded and put on Medium later anyway. We do have a few questions come through, only about five or six, and I will answer them in a bit.

Okay, so let’s just have a look at the first questions that we’ve had come here from social media.

We had a question here from Suji, which is, will the game launch publicly this year or next year?
This is a good question. The game is live. Anyone can download it and play it now — it’s fully available. The launch to some extent has already happened this year and the, the following parts of the launch will be happening later this year. 2023 is the year that Polker will be going completely live. The MVP is out now. Go to polker.game, download it, register and play.

The next question is from Salvo. In order to participate in the vote in the future DAO, is it necessary to hold one’s tokens on the platform? Or on some MetaMask type browser extension? Or will it also be possible to do so by whoever will hold the token in a centralized exchange.
I don’t have the specifications for the exact structure of the smart contract regarding the DAO. There are two options I’m looking at — most likely will be something like Snapshot. We are just trying to find if there are ways that we can have voting for people who have tokens in the staking pool without having to remove them to vote and then re-stake them. The one thing I can say is that if people are holding the tokens on a centralized exchange, be that Bitmart, MEXC, Bittrex, there will be no way to use them to vote. There’s no way for any smart contract to count them. But if they’re in their own wallet, then it should be a possibility.

The next question here is, is a collaboration or an investor/s more important to you?
I would need a bit more detail on this question, so if you could put that through, I will try and answer it next time. Collaborations are great. Obviously, it depends on who you’re working with. With investors, it also depends on who’s investing — if it’s someone who’s passively investing or if it’s an active firm that is not just putting money in but also opening doors.

The next question is, has Epic Games already released other games in the crypto sector?
Yes, Epic Games is moving forward quite rapidly with web3 NFT crypto projects. They have quite strict rules and regulations of what’s allowed, and they make sure that any crypto blockchain stuff is very separated from their spots(?)/

Will Epic Games provide additional marketing support (social media etc.) beyond the marketing indirectly provided by the game’s presence on the platform?
I don’t think Epic Games will be providing their own marketing support. I’m sure there are announcements when it comes to social media. We can do larger marketing things on their platform, but I don’t believe they will be putting their own marketing efforts into this. In the end, it is a sector that they’re still hesitant about.

This may change in the future, but right now, this is going to be great access for us and great at opening a lot of doors, but the marketing side probably will not be supported heavily by Epic Games.

Another question here was, will I need to create an account with the Epic Games platform to play Polker?
Yes, currently a lot of the in-game systems on Polker are working with Epic Online Services. This requires you to have an Epic account. The friends, the connections, the in-game chat systems, the way that you’re connected to the other person on the backend are through their Epic Games account. This gives an extra layer of security it obviously allows us to be in. The Epic Games store opens a lot of doors. It does have a few restrictions, but in the end, the positives outweigh the negatives on this one.

And from Mohammed Zahir, how do we participate in PKR DAO voting?

Once this goes live, I’m expecting it to be during Q3 in, in a beta mode and then running properly in Q4. This will be the same as any DAO. There’ll be votes to come through — you’re clicking yes, no or whichever on the selection. It will then ask you to sign a transaction. There are no gas fees or costs involved in this. It will just check your wallet for how many PKR there are. Let’s say in total 10 million PKR vote, you know, 8 million PKR holders voted yes, 2 million voted no, then the answer is yes, we will do it this way. Like I said, I am looking at ways that this will work with the staking clause and a few other methods, but currently this will be the way that it’s run. I just want to try and ensure that we can have the fairest and the smoothest method possible, but it’ll be at no cost to participate for the user. It will be a fair distribution. No team members will be allowed to participate in the DAO voting, so we will make sure we have a fair governance system and hopefully have that live by the end of the year.

So, I hope everyone does have a good Monday and a good rest of the week. We will be at the same time this coming Monday and then we’ll be reverting to the normal time (11 AM EDT/3 PM UTC) afterwards. Keep an eye out on Medium; we’ll try to have the recap up in the next 48 hours. Always feel free to ask your questions on social media and we will be here to answer them at the same place next week.
